General Information

New Passwords are sent to all subscribers on the first day of each month -- we have never missed a deadline.

However, keep in mind that our administrative office is in Hawaii -- we are therefore located within the last time zone on the planet which means that (according to YOUR local time) your password may arrive later in the day on the 1st of the month. For instance, 3PM on the US east coast (EDT) is only 9AM here.

And, if you are on the other side of the international dateline (i.e., New Zealand, Australia, Asia), then your password will likely arrive on the 2nd according to your local time in spite of the fact it is still the 1st in Hawaii.

That said, IF today is first of the month, then your password is probably in transit to you. Give it a few hours and you'll likely find it in your email box.

However, if today is NOT the first of the month, and you are a current subscriber, then you should already have your password.

The exception to this rule is January, when we typically mail within the first 15 days. We do this to catch the changes that commonly take place just after the first of each year. We'll notify you when we have a publishing date set.

If you already have your password but it is not working, see troubleshooting found lower on this page.

If You Have Not Received Your Password This Month

We send new passwords to all subscribers on the first day of each month.

The exception to this rule is January, when we typically mail within the first 15 days. We do this to catch the changes that commonly take place just after the first of each year. We'll notify you when we have a publishing date set.

And, because we have no reason NOT to send you your new password we have to suspect there may be something wrong with your ability to receive email from us. Please understand how important it is to us to keep you happy. Therefore rest assured that we have attempted to deliver your monthly password.

Because we'll be sending you a new password every month, it’s important that we determine why you aren’t receiving our emails. One reason, among others, could be that "email blocking" is the culprit -- unbeknownst to you, your web hosting service or ISP may be filtering your email. Even though there is no reason for anyone to be blocking email from se-news.com, there are just so many ways of filtering that sometimes it happens unintentionally.

One thing you can do is to add senews@se-news.com to your white list or to your known contacts in your address book. This will help your ISP to recognize our emails as ones not to filter. After you’ve done that, just send us a quick email requesting your password information and we’ll resend your information to you.

In any case, you can always send us a message make certain to include your phone number and we will call you with your password information.

Lost Password

In the event that you accidentally lost or deleted your email containing your password, then send us a note and be sure to include...
  • The Name and email address that you used when you placed your order.
  • Your Company Name and Phone Number that you used when you placed your order.

This verification information will help us get you your password as quickly as possible.

Trouble Shooting Your Password

Start by checking your date. If the date of your last "password update" is not in this month, then you have the wrong password. Every month we change the password.

However, if the date of your last update matches this month, then proceed as follows.

  1. Copy and paste the user name and password in the appropriate fields (in other words, make sure they are spelled correctly).
  2. Make certain there are NO empty spaces before or after the user name or password. If necessary, use the "backspace" button to make certain there are no empty spaces.
  3. Use ONLY lower case letters, NO capitalizations and make sure your CAP LOCK key is turned off.

Now, try it.

If the password still does not work,

  1. ...then empty your browser's "history" (aka, "cache"). Some browsers try to "remember" password info and if your browser remembers the old password then the new one may not work.
  2. Once you have emptied or "cleared" your browser's history (cache), then close your browser and reopen it and try again. In some cases it also helps to "reboot" your computer and start over after clearing your browser's history.

Extreme Troubleshooting

First, please understand these are seldom needed, extreme measures. However in the event that you are using a very old browser or an older computer with limited memory resources, or a questionable dial-up service provider, the following steps may solve your problem.

  1. Try another browser. If you are using "Netscape", then try using "Microsoft's IE" -- or vice versa. Sometimes password access problems are "browser related". Changing browsers will help you identify this problem.
  2. Try another computer. Sometimes it can be a computer "resource" problem. If you have easy access to another computer then you can easily determine if the problem is "computer specific".
  3. Try a different dial-up service. If you have the availability of multiple dial-up services, then try a different dial-up. It is a remote possibility that your dial-up service is blocking service to one or more domains. It shouldn't happen but in some cases it does. If you find yourself caught in one of these "domain blocking" wars, then run to a new dial-up service. Whatever their reason for blocking domains, they are trampling all over your rights by not informing you prior to limiting your access to the Internet.

Last Resort

If you have exhausted all of the options above that are reasonably available to you, then give us a call at 800-334-5662, 808-329-5700 or send us a note -- we will be happy to assist you in solving the problem. Be sure to include...

  • The Name and email address that you used when you placed your order.
  • The Company Name and Phone Number that you used when you placed your order.

This verification information will help us get you your password as quickly as possible.
